DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, integrating, implementing, and evaluating data supporting research and development (R&D) of ultra low volume formulations and providing technical and support to the supervisory research scientist. Possesses general understanding of R&D methods and program management techniques with specific expertise applicable to the development and efficacy assessment (improve a.i. migration across arthropod cuticular barrier, retardation of droplet evaporation and/or improved canopy penetration) of ultra-low volume formulations (ULVs) and to the performance of demonstrations, tests and evaluation; Develops integrated methodologies and research plans addressing all technical and functional considerations to successfully develop a ULV and coordinates with collaborators to facilitate successful formulation development (incumbent) and assessment (collaborators). Obtains, interprets, documents data and prepares technical reports. Additionally, incumbent should possess experience in developing and managing R&D programs and budgets.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Recent Ph.D. in physical science, engineering, or mathematics or related field is required. Knowledge of scientific (thermodynamic, fluid dynamic, and interfacial/transport) principles applicable to improving active ingredient (a.i.) migration across arthropod cuticular barrier, retarding droplet evaporation or improving canopy penetration of ultra-low volume formulations and specific expertise applicable to developing and managing R&D programs and accomplishing completion of advanced concept demonstrations conducted in team research is desirable.
